Was here to officiate a wedding. The marriage ceremony was beautifully moving and romantic. Their vows were given in the old courtroom where cases were heard and Elvis was filmed during a court scene for one of his movies. Want to go back and visit the museum with my Husband!

My granddaughter loved seeing all the great stuff in the museum. The history in there was jusr great! The lady workimg in there was very nice and helpful.

We enjoyed this museum as it gave us insight into South Dakota's history. At noon in the courthouse we enjoyed a reading of A Christmas Carol accompanied by great chamber music. Do enjoy when you go.

You'll never guess who I ran into today in the Citrus County Courthouse Museum. None other than Elvis! He was all over the place. Apparently in 1961 he was there to film "Follow That Dream". The old Courthouse is a terrific place to visit and soak in the history of life going back to and including the Native Americans who once called this area home. There is a life size model of a native speaking about his life there and loads of interesting artifacts spread out through several rooms. Upstairs is where Elvis appeared in the courtroom scene in the film. Elvis fans will really enjoy a visit to this place as well as history buffs. There's a lot to see and interesting events are also held there. Coming up on August 17, 2017, is a performance by an Elvis tribute artist, Peter Alden. Should be fun. Be sure to check out the museum next time you're in Inverness. It is handicap accessible with an outdoor elevator at the main entrance.

A beautiful well preserved structure. Epitomizes old Florida.
